BÓNA FAMILY

The Bóna family practices beekeeping in the area around Kecel, within the Kiskunság National Park. The family includes Zoltán Bóna, his wife Marika, and their four children. Their primary focus is queen bee breeding, and a significant portion of their honey comes from the nature-protected areas. Zoltán Bóna made the decision to switch from his profession as a heating technician to beekeeping after a dream. Learning from his own failures, he came to understand the intricacies of beekeeping.

For many years, they travelled around the country, following the flowering of plants. Then they shifted their focus to breeding queen bees, which has become their primary profile. They breed gentle bees, and some beekeepers travel hundreds of kilometers to buy queen bees from them.
